Job Overview: A reputable law firm located in Florham Park, NJ is seeking an experienced Environmental Associate Attorney. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in environmental law, including compliance, litigation, and transactional matters. The selected candidate will be responsible for advising clients on a variety of environmental issues and representing them in legal proceedings. Duties: Counsel clients on federal, state, and local environmental regulations to ensure compliance. Develop and implement strategies for remediation cost recovery in litigation. Draft and negotiate agreements with a focus on environmental provisions. Represent clients before regulatory agencies such as the NJ Department of Environmental Protection, EPA, NY Department of Environmental Conservation, and NY Department of Health. Requirements: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Licensed to practice in New Jersey, with additional preference for candidates also admitted in New York. A minimum of 3-7 years of experience in environmental law, with a focus on compliance, litigation, and regulatory matters. Education: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution. Certifications: Active membership in good standing with the New Jersey State Bar (required). Admission to the New York State Bar (preferred). Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to navigate complex regulatory frameworks. Excellent verbal and written communication. Ability to manage multiple clients and cases simultaneously. Expertise in environmental compliance, litigation, and regulatory representation. High ethical standards and professionalism in client representation.
