Job Description

Position Title: Director, Training and Development

Department: Administration

Reports to: Assistant General Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt / Full-Time Salary

Union Code: Non-Union

Minimum Pay Rate: $130,000

Maximum Pay Rate: $140,000

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Training & Development

  • Deliver the Brooklyn Way training across all departments at the utmost quality.
  • Execute training validation to guarantee staff performance beyond completion.
  • Create customized learning pathways from frontline event staff to senior executives.
  • Develop leadership pipelines to nurture internal talent.
  • Implement succession planning to grow internal leaders.

Culture & Engagement

  • Serve as the cultural North Star building a standard of accountability and pride.
  • Spark enthusiasm, encouraging employees to view their positions as more than income.
  • Partner with HR to create recognition systems that reward impact rather than presence.
  • Promote belonging and inclusivity at every job level and from diverse backgrounds.

Alignment & Collaboration

  • Partner closely with the Assistant General Manager, HR, and departmental leaders to promote positive organizational growth.
  • Work with leaders from operations, guest services, security and other areas to integrate culture into everyday tasks.
  • Leverage data and feedback to enhance training and monitor cultural advancement.
  • Create internal communication plans to keep employees motivated and updated.

First 12 Months Expectations

  • Ensure full completion of Brooklyn Way training at 100% with validation for all employees.
  • Launch a minimum of two new leadership programs with measurable adoption.
  • Enhance cultural alignment scores on the yearly engagement survey by 10%.

CANDIDATE PROFILE: Who You Are

  • Minimum of five years in organizational development, training, employee engagement or related fields.
  • Proven success driving culture and training at a large scale in fastpaced, guestfacing industries.
  • Experience with unionized workforces is strongly preferred.
  • Exceptional communication and influence across all levels.
  • Believes training continues as long as employees apply it.
  • Embraces difficult discussions and encourages uncomfortable conversations to foster alignment.
  • Flourishes in dynamic, everchanging environments, leveraging unpredictability to your advantage.
