Job Description

Job Summary :  

Full responsibility for the efficient operation and quality of product from the Digital Cover Color Press and GMC Laminator.

Shift: 3rd Shift 12am-8am, Sunday-Thursday

Duties/Responsibilities:  

The following job/task functions have been identified as the core functions of this position. However, the supervisor or manager may assign additional duties associated with this position.

• Setup and simultaneous operation of digital printing and lamination equipment to outstanding production and quality levels (press operations include print press, laminator and Polar cutter)

• Analyze and interpret job instructions to thoroughly understand the needs of the customer
• Monitor quality of finished product to ensure customer satisfaction, identify visual defects and apply correction as necessary
• Perform required maintenance, both preventative and corrective, on all aspects of the press and laminator
• Maintain accurate record keeping on timesheets, material usage sheets, log books and PM schedules
• Accurately communicate to the next shift and other co-workers the status of jobs being processed
• Maintain a high level of quality and productivity.

• Follow all required safety procedures such as: PPE’s, Ergonomics, etc.
• Perform job in a manner that protects the health and safety of all employees.
• Train other personnel as instructed

• Work overtime as required
• Assist with housekeeping in the digital area

• Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:  

• High School Diploma or GED
• 1 year digital or offset color press experience
• Strong knowledge of computer-controlled machinery in a production environment
• General knowledge of color theory and the use of densitometers
• Knowledge of paper, ink, and general pressroom materials

• Attention to detail
• Sound business and professional ethics

• Self-motivated, with good mechanical, math, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

Desired Skills and Abilities:

• 3 years digital or offset color press experience

Physical Requirements:  

• Continuous standing and walking
• Must be able to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 50lb 
• Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
