CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking a Construction Inspector to join our Infrastructure Water Team at our Blacksburg, VA office.

YOUR IMPACT

Clean and safe water and wastewater management is vital for every communitys well-being. CHA delivers environmentally friendly and cost-effective water, wastewater and stormwater projects, handling every step from assessment to planning and design in these critical situations.

The Construction Inspector is responsible for observing and documenting the construction of sewer and water systems, as well as dams. This includes monitoring construction for conformance with contract documents and shop drawings/material submittals, recording field observations, and verifying construction conforms to quality control plans. Additionally, the Construction Inspector prepares and maintains project records in accordance with company, client, and/or government standards.

REQUIREMENTS
  • High School Diploma required; Associates degree in Engineering Science, Construction Management, or related technical field preferred
  • Valid US driver's license required
  • No prior experience required; however, prior construction or construction observation experience preferred
  • Prior water/wastewater experience preferred
  • Able to comprehend construction plans and specifications
  • Understands and follows company standards, demonstrates knowledge of construction techniques, and assists mid-to-senior level team members with complex projects
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong mathematics skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Strong ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Extensive travel may be required
  • NICET Level I certification preferred
SALARY RANGE:

$27.88 - $32.21

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
