Responsible for assisting nursing personnel in giving quality care to patients in the operating room. Performs duties and responsibilities of a scrub person under the direction of a registered professional nurse. Assists in obtaining supplies, equipment and opening of operating and other rooms, as necessary. Breaks down setup and prepares instruments for sterilization. Helps transfer patients to the recovery room and cleans and restocks the operating room.
***On-Call/Weekend expectation: 4 weekday call shifts per 4 week period/ one 24 hour weekend call shift per 4 week period. 1 holiday on call***
Principal Accountabilities: 1. Checks and gathers all instruments for each case in assigned room with use of surgeon's preference card.Education/Experience
