Description:

We are seeking to hire a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for a Part-time or Per Diem position to join our team. The Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for providing high quality direct patient care and assisting providers and other clinical staff with patient care and other clinical and administrative duties in a professional manner. This position is primarily clinical. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, professional, and capable of managing their workload in a fast-paced pediatric office environment. Familiarity with EMR eClinicalWorks, is a plus.

Certified Medical Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Completes primarily clinical duties, obtaining and recording patient medical histories.
  • Preparing patients for examination by performing physical tests, taking vitals, reporting patient history and summary - PEDIATRIC HEIGHT, WEIGHT, LENGTH, HEAD CIRCUMFERENCE
  • Preparing treatment rooms for clinical examinations
  • Counseling patients by transmitting physicians’ orders and questions about the treatment
  • Delivering attentive compassionate support and assistance to patients and families
  • Pediatric experience preferred. Be comfortable and experienced in administering immunizations/vaccines, lead screening, hemoglobin testing, strep tests, flu, COVID, urine screening - collecting specimens from infant children and teens, 0 to 21 years of age. Measuring and weighing babies, recording growth charts and performing vision screenings. We vaccinate ALL our patients according to the CDC and AAP guidelines
  • Ensuring compliance with all healthcare regulations including HIPAA, OSHA, etc.
  • Aides staff, physicians, and other faculty as needed
  • Performs additional job-related duties as assigned

Certified Medical Assistant Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Firm grasp on medical practices, administrative processes, and organizational policies
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient in administrative tasks
  • Must be highly organized and detail-oriented; demonstrating leadership to maintain credibility
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and digital record systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively and verbalize ideas
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands and demonstrates the highest level of customer/client service and response
  • Demonstrates ability to achieve high performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Education and Experience:

  • Medical Assistant Certification or Registration required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • One year of prior experience in a medical setting preferred
