About the Role
The Company is seeking a Career Coach to join their team. This role is a 12-month, full-time, grant-funded appointment, with a focus on providing career planning support to students in the East End and Mayflower School Districts. The successful candidate will be responsible for early outreach to low-income students, offering information on the importance of postsecondary education, and assisting in the development of individual career plans. The Career Coach will also facilitate skills assessments, and interest inventories, and provide opportunities for job shadowing, mentoring, and internships. A key aspect of the role is to connect students with support services that ease the transition to postsecondary education and to provide a continuum of career guidance from middle school to the workplace. Applicants for the Career Coach position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree and hold or be willing to obtain a Facilitating Career Development (FCD) credential. The role requires effective communication skills, proficiency in computer applications, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have a background in career development, be adept at problem-solving, and be able to work with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. Responsibilities also include maintaining confidentiality, handling sensitive issues, and being flexible in the face of change.
