Job Title: CAD Designer/Drafter

Location: Tucson, AZ

Duration: Fulltime (Onsite)

Pay range: $23.00 - $29.00 per hour

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

CAD Designer/Drafter transforms initial rough product designs into working documents using computer aided design (CAD). Reviews engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.

The Designer/Drafter collaborates with design originators to resolve discrepancies between original CAD models and final CAD component designs and also interfaces with manufacturing vendors to assure designs are manufacturable. This position will also assemble prototypes of design and operate the 3D printers at client to develop prototypes and production parts. They will also produce accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) that are manufacturable by vendors and client's technicians.

Essential Functions

• Transform 3D CAD models into accurate part drawings that are manufacturable.
• Add annotation and dimensions to plot plans, details, and schematics
• Create PDF drawings for review and storage for manufacturing use
• Modify drawings as directed
• Assemble, maintain, and communicate base file structure within a project
• Develop high quality accurate drafting projects in a timely manner
• Work independently on assigned projects
• Check tolerances, dimensions, and feasibility of designs and work with a team to resolve problems.
• Develop the product Bill of Materials (BOM) and transfer to manufacturing
• Hands on building of prototypes and custom products

An ideal candidate will have the following skills:

• 5+ years of CAD related experience or industry experience with SolidWorks
• Associate degree or higher or completion of related technical school courses or equivalent experience
• Familiarity with GD&T
• US Citizen, “Green Card” or permanent residency required
• Ability to understand instructions and independently carry out assigned tasks
• Must be comfortable reading and interpreting technical documentation
• Detail and quality oriented
• Enjoys and is skilled at building the products they design
• Strong communication and customer skills
• Be fluent in English: Speaking, reading and writing.
