Job Description

Preferred Pension Planning Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented, experienced Bookkeeper for immediate hire. Key responsibilities include overseeing accounts receivable and payable, creating client bills and tracking payment, processing incoming payments from our partners, maintaining and executing payroll procedures, accurate and timely upkeep of financial records, creating financial reports, and assisting with tax filing. 

The ideal candidate is well-versed in the intricacies of small business Bookkeeping, is self-motivated and can work autonomously using investigative/problem -solving skills to trace and track payment details, and is comfortable speaking to clients and executives about any billing issues that may arise while maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor.

Prior experience in pensions is a huge bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Track all accounts receivable and payable
  • Prepare and send bills to clients, tracking payment
  • Pay vendors and other suppliers
  • Keep accounts clean and updated in accounting software
  • Produce reports for executive review, including profit & loss, balance sheet, and budget
  • Company payroll
  • Assist with tax filings

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (Accounting or related field is desired but not required)
  • Experience in Bookkeeping for small businesses
  • Experience with one or more of the following: QuickBooks, QuickBooks Online, Xero
  • Prior experience with PensionPro is an asset
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Innovative thinking and a passion for improving and streamlining processes

 

Hybrid work
This position requires you to be in office most days. Remote work is available up to 2 days per week.

 

Salary
Commensurate with experience, salary range is $55,000-$75,000.
