A Bilingual Intermodal Trucking Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating the movement of shipping containers between ports, rail yards, and customer locations using trucks. Their primary focus is on efficient, compliant, and timely delivery.
Job duties:

Dispatching & Scheduling:

Assign loads to drivers based on availability, location, and priority.

Schedule pickup and delivery appointments with ports, rail yards, and customers.

Monitor driver logs and update schedules in real time.

Load Coordination:

Ensure proper documentation (e.g., delivery orders, bills of lading, container release forms).

Verify container availability and track status at terminals or railyards.

Optimize routes to maximize fuel efficiency and minimize delays.

Communication:

Maintain constant communication with drivers for updates, problem-solving, and guidance.

Serve as liaison between drivers, customers, terminals, and brokers.

Compliance & Documentation:

Ensure all operations comply with DOT regulations and port/rail security rules.

Keep accurate records of load movements, driver hours, and incidents.

Problem Resolution:

Handle on-road issues such as breakdowns, traffic delays, or documentation problems.

Respond to customer inquiries or complaints quickly and professionally.

Use of Technology:

Utilize transportation management systems (TMS), GPS tracking, and port/rail websites.

Enter and update load and driver data in dispatch software.

Driver Management:

Track driver hours and availability (HOS - Hours of Service).

Coordinate equipment needs (e.g., chassis availability, empty container returns).

Requirement
