Overview

We are searching for a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Project Manager on behalf of our client. This is a 1-year contract (W-2) role based in Juno Beach, FL. The position coordinates daily activities of internal and external resources to support Development, Engineering, Estimating, Supply Chain, Scheduling, and Construction for BESS projects within the Engineering and Construction (E&C) Business Unit. The role manages multiple projects at varying stages across the United States and Canada, with occasional travel to project locations and for local public hearings. The objective is to ensure compliance with budget, scheduling, and safety goals, and to support construction work performed by contractors and/or vendors at project sites.

Note: No Third-Party or C2C Firms. Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Base pay range: $149,760.00/yr - $166,400.00/yr.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate highly matrixed project development teams to ensure resources focus on the right activity at the right time to meet project schedule.
• Coordinate with environmental, regulatory, cultural, land acquisition, interconnection, and other stakeholders to identify and incorporate project variables.
• Develop the projects technical scope and optimize variables to improve technical and financial feasibility.
• Support origination and development teams with PPA and GIA negotiations; support development teams with jurisdictional needs.
• Coordinate engineering, estimating and procurement requirements; support E&C engineering and cost estimating teams with technical attributes and financial model development.
• Leverage market data to ensure the financial model remains healthy and present it to executive stakeholders; manage the model through budget approvals.
• Source, negotiate, and execute commercial contracts for critical services (e.g., geotechnical, surveying, engineering, EPC/PC construction).
• Represent E&C interests on assigned projects and engage with executives, suppliers, regulatory agencies, local communities, and other stakeholders.
• Utilize software tools to manage data, deliverables, and key indicators; contribute to process improvements and efficiency initiatives to support growth.
• Ensure smooth handover of projects moving to Construction with an inclusive and executable construction plan for the Construction Project Manager.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Finance/Accounting with experience in related engineering and construction of renewable energy projects preferred
• Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience
• Strong project management, communication, financial, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Experience with electricity markets, renewables, and/or battery projects is a plus
• PMP Certification and advanced Excel skills are preferred
