Position: Assistant Professor of Psychology – Counseling Psychology Location: Waverly, IA Job Id: 321 # of Openings: 1 Faculty Position Vacancy Founded in 1852, Wartburg College is a selective four-year liberal arts college of the Lutheran Church (ELCA), nationally recognized for community engagement. The college offers more than 50 academic majors and pre-professional and certificate programs leading to the bachelor’s degree. The college is located in Waverly, Iowa, a growing community of more than 10,000 residents. QUALIFICATIONS:

Successful candidates will provide evidence of the following qualifications: Required: Ph.D. in psychology or equivalent terminal degree (completed by September 1, 2025) Prior successful college-level teaching experience in psychology Promise of continued scholarly activity Ability to engage undergraduates in research, academic advising, and practice activities Successful candidates must be willing to support the College’s mission and contribute to the strategic plan.

DUTIES:

The successful candidate will fulfill the duties of tenure track faculty to include: Primary teaching responsibilities will be teaching seven courses (3-3-1) in the academic year including Introduction to Psychology; Research Methods sequence; Counseling Psychology; Abnormal Psychology; Health Psychology; Advanced Topics in psychology; courses in the general education curriculum, and in individual areas of specialization. The successful candidate will also mentor student research projects, advise program majors and minors, and engage in scholarship and service appropriate to the liberal arts setting.
