Architectural Intern

Job Description: Provide support for all aspects of design and development projects.

Reports To: Senior Design Project Manager

Wage Status: Non-Exempt (Eligible for overtime)

Required Skills: Job Responsibilities:

• Supports design team in development of project’s designs for various properties.
• Assists in the development of the projects design, through sketches, 3d models, and
• digital design files.
• Provide general project support including:
  • file and organize design and construction documents
  • log construction sketches
  • catalogue daily construction photos, etc.
  • design and print signs
  • perform punch lists
  • calculate square footages and other takeoffs for material orders
  • order drawing sets
• Visit job sites and occupied properties to perform site surveys and verify existing
• conditions.
• Attend and take notes at design development, construction, and job site meetings.
• Produce documentation in Revit and or AutoCAD including:
  • plans for multi-family common spaces, commercial tenant fit-outs, and other
  • design-build projects
  • presentations to company leadership for approval and implementation into
  • various projects
  • site surveys
  • modified drawings based on redline markups
  • combined drawings from outside professional consultants (architects and
  • engineers)
  • construction diagrams of varying detail to assist the project manager
  • diagrams for specialty bidding
• Utilizes BIM technologies in development of three-dimensional models of buildings
• and their components.
• Reviews shop drawings and submittals and works with senior team members on the
• final review and approval.
• Track action items
• Follow-up on tasks with the project managers in the field
• Create 3D models to support the design team and aid to visualize material selections
• and layouts
• Collage images to aid in various design proposals.
• Assists in building analysis, research of concepts, design presentations and building
• material research.
• Assist in specialty bidding.
• Assists in managing materials library.

• Assists in project punch lists and closeout processes and helps create final reports. Requirements:

• Self-motivated & punctual, and present one-self as if "your name was on the door."
• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2015 & SketchUp; experience with Revit 2013/2015 a plus
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop; experience with other Adobe Design suite applications a plus
• Understand design documentation
• Enjoy working in the field on active construction sites
• Professional and polished in appearance and speech.
• Work both independently and as part of a team
• Follow directions and execute them in a clear, precise manner
• Successfully manage multiple projects and timelines
• Communicate clearly and calmly even in emotional, high-pressured, schedule-driven situations.
• Excellent graphic, verbal, and written communication skills.
