Anesthesiology - Physician at FT. SAM HOUSTON - Defense Health Agency Medical Civilian Corps summary: An anesthesiology physician provides anesthesia services for surgical and procedural patients, administers nerve blocks for pain management, and oversees recovery room activities including drug and respiratory therapy. They also instruct medical staff and students on anesthesia administration and perform advanced diagnostic and treatment procedures. This role requires up-to-date knowledge of anesthesia techniques and making comprehensive treatment recommendations. POSITION DUTIES:- Provide anesthesia services to all categories and types of patients requiring surgical or procedural intervention. - Administer appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic nerve blocks in the treatment of acute and chronic pain. - Oversee activity of recovery room and administer appropriate drug and respiratory therapy in the recovery room setting. - Instruct nurse anesthesia students, physicians, interns, and physicians rotating through the Anesthesiology Service in the proper administration of anesthesia. - Perform the most advanced diagnostic and treatment procedures - Responsible for making treatment recommendations for the full treatment regimen involving knowledge of new techniques - Performs other duties as assigned.
