Kimco Realty Corp. We're seeking smart, driven candidates who are passionate about beginning a career in real estate.
Kimco is seeking an intern to join our Accounting team this summer. During this summer 2025 program, interns will gain hands on experience of the many responsibilities and obligations of the accounting department.
This internship will involve working approximately 40 hours per week for a duration of approximately 8 - 10 weeks, with flexible start and end dates. Interns will be paid an hourly rate of $20 an hour.
Internship responsibilities: - Assist in the preparation of internal schedules and workpapers
- Assist with the accounting for job cost and construction advancement
- Learn and understand the line of business, the day-to-day responsibilities of the accounting department, and how it functions within the broader real estate business
- Assist in monitoring and analyzing financial, construction and real estate related reports
- Collaborate with different teams to provide support
- Support other projects as needed to gain exposure to different aspects of accounting and real estate
Requirements: - Currently in pursuit of bachelor's degree in accounting at the time of the internship, with a minimum GPA of 3.0
- Strong desire to work in the commercial real estate industry
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Outlook and Excel
- Must have strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills with high initiative, flexibility, and team approach to work
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Applicants must have legal authorization to work in the U.S. (we do not sponsor visas for the position)
- Selected intern must be able to provide his/her own housing accommodations within a commutable distance from the internship location in Jericho, NY.
