Esports Elective

We offer innovative, immersive, and career- and college-relevant education to interested middle school-aged students. The semester-long modules integrate programs of study, focusing on esports as a means of facilitating the transference of concepts and skills that incorporate, the Florida State Standards, NGSS, ISTE, and SEL standards that are appropriate for the target student demographic. This program does not focus on video game titles in particular, nor does it seek to improve a student’s gameplay skills or aspirations to join competitive leagues. This program’s roots are firmly grounded in academic theory, learning outcomes, and measurable scholastic improvement. The diagram below provides a visual explanation of the four general categories and their itinerant career focuses:

Drones and Coding

Our Drone and Coding class incorporates the world of coding technology to program and fly drones. Additionally, the drone class prepares students for drone competitions held throughout the county.

Coding Fundamental Class

Our program introduces coding through Code.org and For The Win (FTW) Robotics. These software programs include interactive curricula that provide students with videos, online tutorials, and detailed lessons that use a drag and drop method of coding. Students receive a rich and dynamic learning experience in their drone building, flying, and coding learning journey.
